Application Lifecycle Optimization

LISA Solutions for Oracle

Oracle provides a market leading suite of global business applications, integration frameworks including Application Integration Architecture (AIA), and Fusion Middleware tools so that enterprise organizations can create a global business platform consisting of highly adaptable, modern applications. However, to ensure application success for these highly complex, distributed, and interconnected systems, it is critically important that quality and agility be driven into every stage of the software lifecycle.

LISA helps Oracle customers optimize their software test and delivery lifecycle for greater quality and agility by providing test, validation, and virtualization solutions optimized for applications that leverage Oracle's AIA, Fusion middleware, SOA, BPM, and other distributed architectures. LISA natively interacts with Fusion middleware, WebLogic application servers and EJBs, Tuxedo integration frameworks, AquaLogic message buses, ALER-based SOA management solutions, and Oracle systems of record.

Key Capabilities

  • Inline testing. With LISA you don't need to write a test client or maintain fragile test scripts. Instead, you can execute against live AquaLogic components, Fusion services, and other components while you're authoring tests, providing a significant productivity boost for iterative development.
  • Built for Java. LISA natively supports Java objects, EJBs, RMI, JMS queues, JDBC databases, web services and JMX metrics. Specific metrics and test settings for Oracle and BEA WebLogic Servers, databases and more come standard.
  • Collaborative quality. LISA is no-code test environment, so that developers no longer have to script tests, and non-programming team members in QA can be more productive immediately.
  • Test across multiple tiers and technologies. One LISA test case can follow an end-to-end process workflow and validate multiple web sites, web services, Java objects and so on with complete visibilities and traceability.
  • Drive quality across the lifecycle. LISA test assets are shareable and extensible. Extend unit and functional tests into regression tests included in your Ant/Make builds, then reuse and extend the same test cases for load and stress tests.
  • Eliminate dependency constraints. LISA virtual test environments allow you to model and simulate the dynamic behavior of dependent and unavailable services and shared systems, so you can work unconstrained without accessing live systems.

Benefits

  • Efficiently catch more bugs, faster, by providing very complete automated test coverage and traceability deep within complex applications
  • Leverages your existing build and deploy environment of JUnit/Ant for time-saving automated regression testing
  • Shorten release cycles by removing dependency constraints that slow down test and development teams
  • Improve quality by bringing QA into the iterative development cycle for early and continuous testing
  • Quickly identify performance bottlenecks with advanced yet easily configurable metrics (JMX, SNMP, LISA metrics and Windows Perfmon)
  • Continuously monitor performance and functional thresholds, and have LISA send alerts if any boundary conditions are met.
  • Validate appropriate responses and recordings in systems of record (Oracle databases, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft) on a scheduled or continuous basis
  • Advance publish and subscribe to test and load JMS frameworks for BEA MessageQ (as well as IBM MQseries, TIBCO and others)
  • Collaborate and share LISA test cases and test runs as simple XML files incorporated into your groupware, issue tracking and requirements management processes
  • Virtualize away dependency on key live systems and mainframes by capturing and modeling them in LISA's Virtual Service Environment, so teams get a robust virtual test environment at a fraction of the cost, without impacting business operations.

Using LISA, Oracle customers can benefit from higher quality releases, more cost effective and collaborative quality processes, greater automated test coverage across application tiers, and faster time to market by eliminating test and delivery dependency constraints through the use of virtual test environments.
