Faster, More Efficient Resolution of Defects
The defect resolution process between Development and QA is typically manual, iterative and costly, and scales poorly as application complexity grows. The traditional approach typically starts with defect discovery in QA, which is then sent to development to fix, and then returned to QA to validate. Often times, defects are never resolved due to lack of supporting data, an inability to reproduce them, misunderstood requirements, or inefficient communication that wastes time and resources, while allowing issues to escape into production.
LISA enables fast, streamlined resolution of defects without any new technical skills or processes required for Development or QA teams. LISA enables a QA tester to capture defects along with complete developer's context with a single "Alt-click" from the tester's browser or application UI. No technical scripting, detailed descriptions, or development expertise is required from the tester, yet the captured defect contains all system transactions, underlying components, and architectural transparency to ensure defect reproducibility. Defect resolution capabilities include point-and-click drill downs and comparisons, and the information provided can be rapidly converted to LISA test cases for future use in regression tests or other purposes.
Auto-Generated Regression Suites
Many times, important business knowledge and expertise regarding the proper functional behavior of enterprise applications resides in the minds of experienced testers and end users. However, this knowledge can be at risk due to staff turnover, and manual testing approaches and basic UI test recording techniques are brittle and insufficient to ensure modern application quality on their own.
LISA provides a solution for capturing, reproducing and automating the complete, in-depth functional testing expertise of manual testers. LISA allows all the detailed activities of the manual tester to be captured, not just at the user interface but also at each of the underlying layers and components within the transaction, so that they can be packaged as complete end-to-end automated tests across entire transactions and process flows, regardless of the initiating test source. These auto-generated tests can be bundled into highly effective regression test suites which can reduce dependencies on manual testing efforts in the future.
