Enabling CMMi with LISA |
|
CMMi-level quality is not a tool you can buy off
the shelf. Executive Summary Many organizations are aligning their development processes with the Capability Maturity Model, which defines five levels of process maturity. iTKO's LISA product can be used at all five levels to help an organization achieve its CMMi compliance goals. This brief paper presents techniques for using LISA to enable an organization to fulfill its CMMi strategy for software development. Regulatory concerns and compliance buzzwords such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) and HIPAA have lately become a fashionable way to sell more software and consulting services across industries. Bear in mind that there is no “silver bullet” solution to achieving any compliance goal – software like LISA helps, but building a CMMi practice requires multiple technologies and a team effort. The heart of compliance is a disciplined approach to process quality that your whole organization must adopt. This report discusses how LISA is used to fulfill applicable key process areas within each maturity level of CMMi standards. Tasks that can be performed using LISA and artifacts that can be produced by LISA are identified and aligned with the general goals of each maturity level.
