Most major enterprises have invested millions of dollars on software performance lab infrastructure. These huge capital investments have developed recurring maintenance effort and costs, unstable environments, and inter-team conflicts over constrained resources. To combat this drain and deliver meaningful value, companies need to find ways to optimize performance labs and add incremental value. By Virtualizing the behavior and performance characteristics of test lab dependencies, Accenture and iTKO have demonstrated how joint customers can achieve highly available labs that allow earlier performance testing with greater flexibility, at a much lower cost.

Techniques discussed in this webinar will include:

  1. Removing capacity constraints from the performance testing lab: Rather than buy more prohibitively expensive test environment infrastructure, address the lowest capacity dependencies in your performance environment first. Customer example: Leading Global Bank.
  2. Conduct incremental, iterative Performance Testing: "Big Bang" performance testing no longer works in an agile, distributed software world. To succeed in eliminating performance problems, teams need to performance test earlier in the software lifecycle, against a broad set of possible scenarios. By virtualizing the environment, teams can get this early, iterative access. Customer example: Top Telecommunications company.
  3. Performance Management by Decomposing SLAs. With very tight performance cycle time requirements, performance teams must learn to build up and isolate the target application's responsiveness at a component level to meet critical Service Level requirements. Virtualization of services can allow this process to move forward, even if all of the needed technologies are not available. Customer example: Top 20 Insurance Firm.
