Senior Quality Engineer
Job Description:
Software Quality Engineers are an integral and vital part of R&D at iTKO. This position is for a senior level engineer with extensive experience performing software quality-engineering responsibilities for all stages of the product lifecycle management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the top technical professionals in the software testing industry on bringing cutting-edge technologies to market that will change the way software is practiced.
Successful employees have knowledge of and use a variety of test management tools and validation testing methodologies to drive quality for all new and existing LISA products.
- Responsibilities Include:
- Develop, maintain and execute LISA test projects to ensure that software products produce results which are consistent with both user expectations and product documentation
- Deep understanding of quality assurance and software testing concepts and practices to continually assess the condition and quality of software builds, bug fixes, and interim releases
- Provide estimates for planning, development and execution of automated test cases.
- Automate LISA test projects and integrate these automated tests with the nightly build process
- Manage software bug documentation, tracking, and resolution; including development and execution of risk-appropriate regression test plans.
- Interact with development teams for feature knowledge transfer
- Mentor and assess the performance of junior level software quality engineers
- Assess and report project execution status to management
- Add to the knowledge base by contributing to Tech Notes, FAQs, product documentation and product forums.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or higher in computer science, engineering or equivalent technical discipline preferred
- Experience with virtualized environments and lab management software (such as VMware and VMLogix)
- Experience with the following operating systems: Linux/Unix, Windows
- Experience with XML and web services
- Excellent problem solving skills, self-motivated
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent test planning and organizational skills
- Able to work in a rapidly growing company environment with an extremely high level of enthusiasm and intensity
- Self-disciplined and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Highly motivated self-starter that can quickly learn applications
- Preferences:
- 5+ years experience within a software QA/testing role
- 1+ years experience with testing tools and test automation
- 5+ years java programming experience
- 1+ years experience with ANT
